I believe that the moral lesson of The Lightning Thief is that anyone can become a hero. Percy is a kid who is considered to be a loser at his school, he is bullied, isn't the brightest student, and has dyslexia and ADHD. Another lesson of this book is to have courage to do what you want to do, but are afraid.
