Answer is    -1/4

Work Shown:

q(x) = 3x - 1

q(1/4) = 3(1/4) - 1 ... replace x with 1/4

q(1/4) = 3/4 - 1

q(1/4) = 3/4 - 4/4 ... rewrite 1 as 4/4

q(1/4) = (3-4)/4

q(1/4) = -1/4

The p(x) function is never used.
