Let the orice of cupcakes be x and the price of bear claws be y

5x+ 3y= 45

4x + 6y= 72

Multiply equation 1 by 4 and equation 2 by 5

20x + 12y= 180

20x + 30y= 360

-18y= -180

y= 10

Substitute 10 for y in equation 1

5x + 3(10)= 45

5x + 30= 45

5x = 45-30

5x= 15

x= 15/5

= 3

Hence the price of cup cakes is 3 and bear claws is $10
