Explain why multiplying the numerator and denominator of a fraction by the same number results in an equivalent fraction.

Dear APerson123, the reason why is because that number that is multiplied to the numerator and denominator is a unit rate. Every time the two numbers multiplies by the unit rate, the value may look different, but they are proportionally the same.
