Give the two fractions like denominators of 25 by multiplying the 2/5 by 5/5. 2/5 x 5/5 = (2 x 5) / (5 x 5) = 10/25. Then add 10/25 to 11/25. The sum of 10/25 + 11/25 = (10 + 11)/25 = 21/25.
turn 2/5 into a common denominator with 11/25 so it would be 2/5 x 5 which is 10/25 +11/25 =21/25
